Fibre composite plain bearings

Fibre composite plain bearings have been specially developed for dry-running applications. Thanks to a unique sliding surface made of PTFE and PES fibers embedded in epoxy resin, these bearings offer excellent performance without the need for lubrication or maintenance. Even in contaminated environments, the sliding surface continues to function reliably. The presence of lubricant does not affect performance, but can even offer additional protection.

Advantages of fibre composite plain bearings

Fibre composite plain bearings combine advanced material technology. Important and practical advantages:
- High load capacity
- Resistant to impact loads and vibrations
- Minimal maintenance
- Excellent corrosion resistance
- Low friction coefficient
- Electrical insulating properties

Applications of fibre composite plain bearings

Fibre composite plain bearings are suitable for heavy-duty and dynamic applications in, for example:
- Earth-moving machines
- Agricultural and forestry equipment
- Hoisting installations and transport systems
- Offshore

What makes fibre composite plain bearings special?
When standard injection-molded plain bearings fail under high loads, fibre composite plain bearings are a reliable alternative. Thanks to their unique construction, these bearings combine wear resistance, low friction, and long service life.
A composite plain bearing consists of two functional layers:
Gliding layer
The inner layer is made of a special fabric enriched with solid lubricants. This makes the bearings self-lubricating
and maintenance-free. They also have a particularly low coefficient of friction, which ensures smooth movement and a longer service life.

Base layer
The outer layer consists of robust fibre material that protects the gliding layer from external influences. This sturdy construction offers high structural stability and makes the bearings suitable for intensive applications and harsh conditions.
The combination of these two layers makes fibre composite plain bearings a durable and reliable solution for a wide range of industrial applications where standard plain bearings often fall short.
